How much does it cost to go to Winterfest?
Nothing, it's free! Thanks to our sponsors we offer free ice skating, free skate rentals, and endless programming including ice skating lessons and photos with Santa!
What are the dates and hours of Winterfest Hartford?
Winterfest Hartford opens for the season on Friday, November 29. It is open every day from 11 am-8 pm. (Except on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Years Day, we are open 12pm-4pm.)
How old do you have to be to skate?
There is no age limit to skate, however, if you are under 16 years of age you must be accompanied by an adult.
What is address for Winterfest?
Winterfest Hartford is located in Bushnell Park, Hartford, CT. For GPS use 60 Elm Street for the skating rink and for the Bushnell Park Carousel (Santa’s Workshop) use 1 Jewell Street. (Best parking for the Carousel is on Trinity Street.)
Do you offer skating lessons?
Free skating lessons are offered on Saturdays in December (December 7, 14, 21, 28, and January 4, 11). Lessons are from 10am-11am. We recommend getting there a few minutes before 10am.
Are helmets provided?
Helmets are not provided, but we do recommend them for small children.
Is there anything else to do besides skating?
There is Santa’s Workshop at the Bushnell Park Carousel. Santa is there on Saturdays and Sundays from 12pm - 3pm, December 7, 8 ,14, 15, 21, and 22. The Carousel is also open for Winterfest and is $1 per ride per person. For special events click here. For all events in Hartford go to Hartford.com.
Where do I park?
There is street parking on Elm, Trinity, and Jewell Streets. Parking is free in the City of Hartford after 6pm during the week and always free on Saturday and Sunday.
Is there food at Winterfest?
Yes, we have the “snack shack” that sells snacks and hot chocolate, the perfect drink to warm you up after your time on the rink! On weekends sometimes there are food trucks as well.
When does Winterfest close?
Winterfest closes for the season on Sunday, January 12, 2020.
